Mariscal Sucre International Airport is the primary airport serving Quito, Ecuador, and is the busiest airport in the country. It is located in the Tababela parish, approximately 18 kilometers east of Quito, and serves as a major hub for Avianca Ecuador and LATAM Ecuador. The airport was opened in February 2013 and replaced the 53-year-old airport of the same name, earning a 5-star rating from Skytrax as the first airport in the Western Hemisphere to do so.
